Extruded aluminum enclosure profiles

The metal material ratios required for aluminum extrusion are different, and the performance of the extruded profiles after smelting is also different, which leads to different functions and applications.

The commonly used aluminum alloy material models for industrial aluminum extrusion profiles are: 6060, 6063, 6063A, 6061, 6082, 6106, 6101, 6101B, 6005, 6005A, 6351, 6863, 2014, 7005, 7075 and other 16 types. The performance corresponding to each material is also different, so different aluminum alloy profiles are selected in the face of different application requirements. For details, see the example below:

aluminum extrusion

6063-T5 angle aluminum:

This aluminum profile is known for its excellent corrosion resistance and is suitable for harsh environments. The magnesium and silicon elements in 6063 angle aluminum form a dense oxide film, which effectively prevents the erosion of oxygen and moisture, thereby significantly extending the service life of the material. It is often used in humid and corrosive environments such as marine engineering and chemical equipment.

6061 and 6063 aluminum tubes:

These aluminum tubes are often used in the industrial field and have high strength and corrosion resistance. They are suitable for various industrial applications, such as machinery manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, etc.

Cylinder aluminum profile:

This type of aluminum profile is used for CNC precision deep processing and is often used to manufacture hard anodized aluminum alloy motor housings. It has high precision and corrosion resistance and is suitable for applications that require high strength and high precision.

Industrial aluminum profile:

This type of profile is widely used in various industrial fields, such as assembly line workbench frames, aluminum alloy brackets, etc. They are usually CNC processed and extruded, with high strength and corrosion resistance.

LED waterproof power supply housing:

This aluminum profile is used in the manufacture of LED waterproof power supply housings, has excellent waterproof performance and corrosion resistance, and is suitable for outdoor lighting equipment.

The manufacturing process of extruded aluminum housing profiles includes the following steps:

Raw material preparation: Aluminum alloy round ingots are usually used as raw materials, and the appropriate aluminum alloy grade, such as 6061 or 6063, is selected according to demand. The aluminum rod needs to be surface cleaned to remove the oxide layer and impurities.

Heating stage: The aluminum bar needs to be heated to a suitable temperature (generally 450°C to 500°C) to soften the aluminum alloy, improve its plasticity, and reduce the deformation resistance during extrusion.

Die design and preparation: Die design directly affects the shape, dimensional accuracy and extrusion efficiency of the profile. The die needs to be preheated to a certain temperature to prevent uneven cooling of the aluminum or damage to the die due to temperature difference during extrusion.

Extrusion molding: The heated aluminum bar passes through the extruder and passes through the die under the push of the extrusion rod to form the desired cross-sectional shape. Controlling the extrusion speed is key to ensure that the aluminum flows evenly and avoids defects such as bubbles, cracks or warping.

Cooling and stretching straightening: The extruded profile needs to be cooled immediately, usually by air cooling or water cooling. After cooling, the profile may be slightly bent due to internal stress and needs to be straightened by stretching equipment.

Cutting and post-processing: The straightened aluminum profile will be cut into specified lengths and aged to obtain the ideal heat treatment state. In addition, necessary surface treatments such as anodizing, electrophoretic coating, etc. are performed.

Therefore, the production process and industry of aluminum extrusion profiles are different due to different materials.
