This is a very challenging project. About 10 years ago, Mulan MFG was commissioned to produce this car logo accessory. This product is a big challenge to the aluminum alloy stamping manufacturing technology, and in many details contradicts the existing stamping technology. The product design is made of aluminum alloy 5052, with a thickness of 0.5mm. The product is divided into 12 steps, which are welded and assembled by three parts. The tolerance of the product at the rear support frame is ±0.15mm, which needs to be met by the assembly robot to quickly assemble to the car. There are 5 important assembly positions, and no error is allowed. Whether it is stamping or welding, it is a test of production equipment and tooling technology. After 40 days of research and development, it has successfully delivered high-quality samples, obtained the auto manufacturer’s license, and supplied it in 5 years of continuous cooperation. About Metal Stamping Parts
This aluminum alloy stamping product is divided into 12 steps and three parts are assembled by welding.
1. The main body of the LOGO is formed by a drawing and stamping process, which is stretched to a depth of 8mm through three times of drawing and stamping (octagonal), and is surrounded by a slope inclined by 35°. A very precise trimming mold is required, and the logo font on the bottom must not have any wrinkles and deformations.
2. The link rod is made by welding two mirrored stamping products. The main body of the product has five important assembly dimensions after welding and splicing. The required tolerance is ±0.05mm and the position tolerance is ±0.1mm. This requires custom-made very precise tooling fixtures. When welding, it is necessary to ensure that the product cannot be loosened, and deviations of more than 2° are not allowed, and the welding strength must be consistent. The material is only 0.5mm aluminum plate, which is easy to be welded poorly or deformed by heat.
3. Combining the three components by high-precision welding, Mulan MFG has tried more than 40 times, and finally produced the perfect product for the customer.
About The Application
This product is applied to the logo of the internal parts of the car. It needs to meet the normal work of the assembly robot. The precision of the assembly is very high. The defective products will directly affect the smooth progress of the automobile manufacturing production line.
