How to ensure the quality of sheet metal enclosures

First, strictly inspect the dimensions according to the drawings and refer to industry dimensional tolerance standards.

Welds should be solid and uniform, free of defects such as cold welds, cracks, incomplete weld penetration, weld penetration, notches, or undercuts. Furthermore, the length and height of the weld should not exceed 10% of the drawing requirements. During welding, non-welded areas should be protected from damage by welding slag and arc. After welding, thoroughly remove any slag and spatter from the surface. For box-type workpieces, the weld height should remain consistent with the flat surface after surface treatment.

Quality control measures during sheet metal enclosure processing include the following:

1. Material control: Ensure that the sheet metal materials used meet the specified standards and specifications. Material inspection is performed to ensure material quality and performance.

2. Process control: Establish a strict process flow, including cutting, stamping, bending, and other steps, to ensure that each operation is performed according to established standards.

3. Equipment maintenance: Regularly maintain and calibrate processing equipment to ensure processing accuracy and stability.

4. Operator Training: Operators receive professional training to ensure they are familiar with the processing procedures and quality requirements and are able to operate the equipment correctly.

5. In-Process Inspection: Real-time monitoring and inspection are performed during the processing process, and any identified issues are promptly adjusted and corrected.

6. Finished Product Inspection: After processing, the sheet metal housing undergoes rigorous quality inspection, including dimensions, shape, and surface finish, to ensure that the product meets design requirements.

7. Quality Records: Detailed records of all quality control data during the processing process are maintained for traceability and analysis, enabling continuous improvement of processing quality.

8. Continuous Improvement: Based on quality inspection results and customer feedback, processing techniques and quality control measures are continuously optimized to enhance product quality.

Deburring

After blanking, sheet metal parts must be carefully inspected to ensure smooth edges and free of sharp corners, sharp edges, or rough areas. These potential hazards must be properly addressed to ensure production safety and user safety. By deburring, we ensure that sheet metal parts meet established quality standards and provide strong support for subsequent production steps.

Drawing Requirements and Standards

Unless otherwise noted, sharp corners not explicitly marked in the drawings are assumed to be R1.0. After stamping, burrs on visible surfaces such as door panels and panels must be properly treated to ensure there are no obvious protrusions, depressions, roughness, scratches, or rust defects to maintain the product’s appearance quality. Burr Requirements: After punching, burr height on visible surfaces such as door panels and panels must meet the requirement of L ≤ 5% t, where t represents the plate thickness. Scratches and Knife Marks: Acceptable if no scratches are felt when touched, and the depth should not exceed 0.1 mm.
Of course, the most fundamental requirement is to strictly adhere to the drawing requirements for quality control and delivery. No matter how well you achieve your final product, you must always use the drawing as the inspection standard. This not only satisfies your customers but also builds their trust in long-term partnerships. Professional sheet metal manufacturers can do this.
